Under the auspices of Dr. Ollie Watts-Davis, Mrs. Hannibal grew both musically and spiritually. During that time Mrs. Hannibal had the opportunity and privilege to sing with Gary Hines and Billy Steele of  Sounds of Blackness, many other renowned artists, and the University of Illinois Black Chorus.  During her studies Mrs. Hannibal performed genres of  Afro-American music including operatic pieces in fluent Italian, German, Latin, and French.
