Scharema Hannibal

Scharema R. Hannibal is a psalmist and musician who serves as Music Director at Word of Life Ministries, where Apostle & Prophetess Ernest and Barbara Taylor are the Founders and Pastors.  Born in Waukegan, IL, Mrs. Hannibal began singing at the age of three and playing the piano at the age of six. In order to cultivate this gift, her parents invested in piano lessons at Professor Allen’s Studio in Chicago, IL. She also studied under classical pianist Ruth Hackert and also at the Zion Conservatory of Music, where she currently teaches piano and voice.


The need for higher education prompted Mrs. Hannibal to seek training in Champaign, IL, where she joined the University of Illinois Black Chorus while studying music at Parkland College. At Parkland College, Mrs. Hannibal and two other music students formed the Parkland Gospel Ensemble.


She later transferred to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, to continue her studies in Music Education. Under the auspices of Dr. Ollie Watts-Davis, Mrs. Hannibal grew both musically and spiritually. During that time Mrs. Hannibal had the opportunity and privilege to sing with Gary Hines and Billy Steele of  Sounds of Blackness, many other renowned artists, and the University of Illinois Black Chorus.  During her studies Mrs. Hannibal performed genres of  Afro-American music including operatic pieces in fluent Italian, German, Latin, and French.


In 1998, Mrs. Hannibal earned her Baccalaureate degree in Music Education Voice-Choral from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following graduation, Mrs. Hannibal has continued her work in music teaching at several public and private schools. Mrs. Hannibal has also participated in Donnie McClurkin’s New Artist Showcase, served as guest vocal clinician at several churches, starred in and wrote original tunes for a gospel musical stage play production. In January 2007, Mrs. Hannibal received the Most Influential African-American in Community Service Award from Lake County, IL, The People's Voice.  In July 2008, Mrs. Hannibal appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel singing background vocals for Gospel Music Recording Artist Melonie Daniels. She has sung with Ricky Dillard and New Generation, College of Lake County Gospel Choir, and currently sings and features as soloist on recordings of Glenn Johnson and Innerpeace and Cynthia Turner and Heartspeak. Currently teaches Private Piano & Voice at the Zion Conservatory of Music, Zion, IL; and also teaches Elementary General Music at Learn Charter Network  - Learn 9 (Waukegan, Il).

She is happily married to her best friend and husband Curtis Hannibal and they are the proud parents of their miracle baby girl Shekinah Melody Hannibal.

Sharon Harper

Sharon Harper s a worship leader, songwriter and worship seminar instructor from Charleston, SC with over 30 years of experience helping to start and establish worship teams in the Charleston area.  Sharon directed the School of the Levites and recorded two albums.

Vivien Hibbert

Author, teacher, musician and worship leader, Vivien Hibbert was born in New Zealand and began full time ministry in 1977 as a teacher of praise and worship. In 1985, Vivien immigrated to the U.S. and has served in full-time pastoral and/or music ministry until today. Vivien is a co-founder of The Worship Arts Conservatory, the first online school of worship. Currently, she is the instructor of the online School of Worship at the Eagles international Training Institute in Dallas.


In 1997 Vivien was privileged to take part in the Promise Keepers Worship Summit where she was involved in developing a strategy for establishing worship internationally with the goal of unifying diverse cultures. She is a regular faculty member of several worship conferences in the United States and overseas, and regularly teaches at Youth With A Mission both domestically and abroad.  As one example of her desire to see the glory of God spread throughout the nations, Vivien was privileged to work with FarsiPraise, Christian converts from Islam, who produce evangelistic teaching and worship for Iranian satellite TV. She longs to see ALL nations, generations and denominations involved in a reformation of worship where God’s presence becomes the primary focus and purpose of Church gatherings. Vivien has ministered in over twenty nations, and is a member of ICE (International Council of Ethnodoxologists).


Vivien has many years of experience in a wide variety of ministries including teaching in church services, bible schools, prisons, hospitals, conferences, retreats, women’s conferences, youth meetings in any nation or denomination. It is her joy to serve the Body of Christ and call them to deeper worship and intimacy with Him.


Vivien has produced several music tapes over the years.  Her most recent musical project is titled "Songs From The Father’s Heart," an inspirational instrumental soaking CD based on the songs the Father sings over each of us. This CD was recorded in Norway in 2013 along with other worship musicians. Another CD, "Shepherd's Suite," is a soaking CD based on Psalm 23. This music gives you a foundation to wait on the Lord - meditating on each verse of this beautiful Shepherd Psalm. In 2016 Vivien began a CD project that is intended as a prayer CD with the sounds of many nations.


Vivien's book, "Prophetic Worship," published in July of 1999, continues to be an excellent and insightful resource on worship. You will find depths of teaching and revelation in this insightful book. It is being re-published in 2019! She also has a unique devotional book entitled "Praise Him." In 2015, Vivien has also published ten booklets of her notes on worship and deeper life.

​Pastor Cory E. Ratliff

​Pastor Cory E. Ratliff, is the Founder and Artistic Director of ALATS Dance, an outreach ministry of The Sign of the Dove Church where he is Senior Co-Pastor. He began the organization in 2010 in response to a need for more intentional training towards children in dance theater performance. The program began with 12 children ages 6 -12, and has grown to 50 plus students from the all over the North Shore community. As a member of the Waukegan Arts Council, he has used ALATS Dance as an ambassador for dance in the Waukegan Community.

He has a BS degree in Vocal Music Education from the University of Illinois, has taught in the North Chicago school district for 7 years and was the Head Administrator for Shelia Daniels Christian Academy for 2 years. He has dance training from North Shore School of Dance under Lisa Gold and training through college courses in modern dance technique.

Pastor Cory served as vocal coach, vocal director, producer, choreographer and orchestra maestro for several productions with Up and Coming Theatre Company of Rolling Meadows, IL

Pastor Ratliff began singing and dancing at an early age. He has performed as a soloist in several areas of music ranging from classical to musical theatre and opera. He has extensive experience in conducting choirs and coaching soloists. He has been a speaker and dance instructor at many workshops and conferences internationally. Pastor Cory is also a choreographer and stage director and has produced several original productions for the church that encourage the body of Christ. He is also a lyricist, composer and recording artist in worship with two CD’s to his credit entitled “Let Your Glory Return to this Temple” and “Fruit of My Lips”.

Pastor Cory Ratliff is married and has three children. He is a resident of Waukegan, IL and works as the Senior Co-Pastor of The Sign of the Dove Church. He is very passionate about His love for God and the use of the Arts to bring reconciliation to the community.
