Session 1
Friday 10:45 - 11:55 am
Sermon Illustrations
This workshop will celebrate worship through a visual experience. Artist, Elmer Yazzie, will share numerous examples of his own illustrations from past experiences. He will define the process he goes through before he begins his illustrations. Attendees will discuss a part of Scripture and produce a sketch of the passage’s meaning.
In Joshua 4 the story of the 12 stones serve as a visual reminder to the People of Israel of how Jehovah Yahweh brought the Israelites out of Egypt, through the wilderness, to the Promised Land.
In Ephesians 2:10 and Psalm 139 and Genesis 2 we are taught that human life is God’s masterpiece. Christians are pieces of art that need to contribute uniqueness to the world.

Psalm Portrait
In our world today beauty is defined so different from what the Holy Scriptures teach us. So many people attempt in various ways to increase “beauty”. The Psalm Portrait experience is about speaking words of praise to Creator God for his handiwork during the process of building a self portrait from a mirror or a photograph.
When the portrait is completed the Psalm of Praise is written to compliment the portrait.
